"Dogs feel very strongly that they should always go with you in the car, in case the need should arise for them to bark violently at nothing right in your ear." -- Dave Barry

Key City Kennel Club AKC Annual Agility Trials
Each October the KCKC has an agility trial held at the Nicollet County Fairgrounds in St. Peter, Minnesota.  Various breeds from all over the region compete on different courses at different levels to earn AKC agility titles.  If you're looking for action, speed, and doggone fun, plan on attending this event!  Watch for updated information on this page.

library day

Public Education Month at the Blue Earth County Library
February is Key City Kennel Club's month at the Blue Earth County Library.  A "Meet the Breed" day is held, where members bring their best socialized dogs to meet the public. There is an agility/obedience demonstration, and AKC informational materials is available for the public.  For more pictures, check out KCKC at the Library!

Also, a seminar is presented by KCKC members on "How to Buy and Raise a Purebred Puppy."  On Tuesday mornings during the month, KCKC members read stories about their favorite breed to area pre-schoolers.  The display cases at the library are also filled with dog collections supplied by members.  These events provide a great opportunity for club members to get their dogs out and to be good ambassadors for their breed!

BCHS Petfest

Brown County Humane Society Petfest, New Ulm, MN
Key City Kennel Club members like to participate in the Brown County Humane Society's Petfest in May at the Brown County Fairgrounds in New Ulm, Minnesota. Members and their canine companions wow the audience with both obedience and agility demonstrations.  Interested spectators can meet the breed, ask questions, and pick up literature about AKC, KCKC, and dog training.  Pictured here, Lynn Davey, KCKC Training Director, explains the fun sport of obedience training.  More pictures can be seen at the Petfest page.

Key City Kennel Club All Breed Dog Shows and Obedience and Rally Trials, Nicollet County Fairgrounds, St. Peter, MN
In May, we hope you are able to  join us for our annual AKC All Breed Dog Shows and Obedience and Rally Trials.  Hundreds of dogs from numerous breeds do what they love best - perform and compete in the show rings!  It is a weekend filled with fun!  Shown here, KCKC member, Melissa Lembke, gaits her Vizsla, Paxton around the ring on the way to winning the Sporting Group in May 2007.  Thanks to Lois Almendinger for submission of photo.
